How can God love us when we are such sinners?

Our souls are so unclean with the filth of sins and yet God loves us so much. How can people not see the love and mercy of the Lord when it is so obvious? He forgives us all even though we sin. Why are some people too blind to see it? Are they blinded by the evil spirits of Satan and his demons?
