"being yourself around family?

It sounds like she just doesn't want you to dress to flashy or skimpy around family, just like any mother would ask of a daughter around family, lol. Maybe she's accepting of who you are but wants you to be more modest around family? Maybe just wear longer skirts around family. If she still has a problem then try to work something out. Hope you're able to be as much of your real self as possible. :)
