Why did George Clooney look so irritated everytime the camera was on him at the Oscars?

It seemed every time a joke was made by Steve and Alec it annoyed George. And at one point the camera was on him and he looked pissed off and actually was making a motion like he was waving away the camera to get them to take the focus off of him. What was that about? Does he have some kind of beef with Steve Martin or Alec Baldwin or was he mad he wasn't getting any awards?
